Glengoyne Distillery Scoops Awards

The Glengoyne Distillery has been winning more awards. Glengoyne's 18 and 25 year old single malts have won gold medals and the 21 year old single malt wins a silver medal at the Asian Spirits Masters held in London.

The Asian Spirits Masters seek to find and reward the finest spirits brands in Asia on the world stage. Chaired by The Spirits Business and a panel of leading, independent spirits specialists, The Asian Spirits Masters is open to all brands available to buy in the Far East and was judged in a blind tasting from entries from across the world. Each spirit is judged on its own merit and is not chosen by comparison.

Meanwhile Glengoyne have won four awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the most prestigious and highly regarded spirits competition in the USA.

The DOUBLE GOLD Medal has been awarded for its 18 and 21 year old malts, the GOLD medal for its 12 year old malt and the SILVER medal for its 15 year old malt.

Held at the distinguished Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition was the largest in its 14-year history with Glengoyne fighting off stiff competition from 1,474 entries.

Iain Weir, Marketing Director for Ian Macleod Distillers, said: "We are truly delighted to have been awarded these medals for four of our Glengoyne malts. Glengoyne is a result of time, craft and care and by distilling slower than anyone else in Scotland, we can genuinely claim that Glengoyne is ‘Worth the Wait’. For our malts to be recognised by these prestigious awards is a great reward for all our hard work."
