West End Festival, Glasgow

Having started off as a small local festival centred around Byres Road, this has now grown to become one of the biggest cultural events in Glasgow's calendar.

Saturday 2nd June
Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games

The Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games are one of the first games of the year and this year they will be held at Helensburgh Rugby Club, Rhu Road Higher, Helensburgh G84 8JZ

Bobath Scotland Dragon Boat Challenge, Balloch Country Park

Dragon boating is a fun filled, adrenaline pumping, water sports event where teams race their dragons in a series of timed races. Ideal for experienced crews and complete beginners alike – from age 12 upwards – boats and full training are provided. All you need is fifteen colleagues, friends or relatives, a desire to help a great cause with fancy dress optional!

The day is all about team building and competition, with each team getting a guaranteed three timed races in the qualifying rounds. Music, running commentary and leader board updates throughout the day add to the excitement and amazing atmosphere, which culminates in a grand final and awards ceremony.

Killearn 10K
Popular athletics event with multi-terrain surfaces - tarmac, forest path, farm track and open grassland. Begins at 11am from the Buchanan Monument

Big Hospice Hike Loch Lomond

Starting in Balmaha on the east shore of Loch Lomond, the Big Hospice Hike proceeds along the West Highland Way to the village of Rowardennan. From here the hike then takes on the ascent up Ben Lomond, which boasts spectacular views of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. Once at the summit of 974m, the descent will commence and complete the hike by walking back to the finish line in Balmaha. If this gruelling 22 mile walk is not for you, then there is a shorter version which is just 7.5 miles starting and finishing in Rowardennan.

To take part in the 22 mile hike, there is a £30 registration fee and a minimum of £200 sponsorship and to take part in the 7.5 mile hike, there is a £20 registration fee and £150 sponsorship. All proceeds will go to the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice that will provide support for those and their families affected.

Join the team on an adventurous walk in search of the butterflies found at Loch Lomond.
