On the ground floor, there is a spacious open plan fully fitted kitchen/dining area and lounge with patio doors onto your own part of Thorntree Barn‘s lawns (with patio and garden seats), and gives access to your own private parking area. Another door opens onto the gravel courtyard (where martins nest under eaves in summer). Upstairs are three comfortable good sized bedrooms, one with a private shower room. Two of the bedrooms have linked beds which can be arranged either as twin beds or a double bed. There is a separate bathroom with power shower and separate WC. One of the bedrooms has a full sized pull down bed and so seven persons can be catered for if need arises. Thorntree is ideal for golfing and walking. Inchmurrin is the largest & most southerly island in Loch Lomond. At 113 hectares, it is also the largest inland island in the UK. Along with the islands of Creinch, Torrinch & Inchcailloch, Conic Hill to the east and Ben Buie to the south west, Inchmurrin forms part of the Highland Boundary Fault Line. The island is 1.5 miles long & 0.5 mile wide.

Inchmurrin is owned and managed by the Scott family, three generations of whom live & work on the island.

Accommodation The Ben (sleeps 8) A detached, cedar clad cottage on the west side of the island, with private sundeck, garden & beach. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy a drink in the evening & watch the sun set over the surrounding hills. The Lodge (sleeps 6) The original hunting lodge on Inchmurrin, with beautiful views south over Loch Lomond. The Lodge is right by the water, where guests can berth at the jetty or be picked up by the island ferry. Apartments Three apartments, accommodating 4-6 people, are situated on the east side of the island, adjacent to the restaurant & bar. All have direct access to lawned garden, beach & jetties, with plenty of space to berth boats, beach canoes and store kit such as windsurfers and paddleboards all ready to go. The apartments all have outdoor seating and barbecues.
