A Warm Welcome and Fond Farewell

This summer, many visitors to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in July received a warm welcome at hotels, B&B's and guesthouses in and around the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Basing themselves here, they enjoyed the best of both worlds while staying in the park and attending the Games in Glasgow. Described as ‘the best Games ever’, Glasgow did us proud. To all our visitors, haste ye back, and a special congratulations and well done to local boy Ross Murdoch from Balfron on his swimming medals!

What We Did On Our Holiday

A new British comedy starring Scots actors David Tennant and Billy Connolly launches on September 26th in cinemas and has been filmed in Scotland including the Trossachs area of the National Park.

What We Did On Our Holiday features Doug (David Tennant) and Abi (Rosamund Pike) and their three children travel to the Scottish Highlands for Doug's father, Gordie's (Billy Connolly) birthday party. The film centres on a large extended family as they gather together in Scotland to celebrate the 75th birthday of grandfather Gordie (Connolly).

From the creators of the hit BBC comedy series Outnumbered, What We Did On Our Holiday is a heart-warming, uplifting comedy for all the family.
